First Tri-Cities Diwali Gala organized on 29th October 2022 by Shubakahi Rawla, Mithila Karnik, Akshita Puri, and Sumit Rawla at Port Moody recreation centre.Notable community members who attended the event included Mr. and Mrs. Naval Tandon, Coquitlam-Burke Mountain MLA Fin Donnelly; Coquitlam Mayor Richard Stewart; Coquitlam Council. Trish Mandewo; Port Coquitlam Council Steve Darling; and SD43 Trustee Jennifer Blatherwick and trustee-elect Zoe Royer.
With Drishti as Media Partners, the evening’s emcee was stand-up comedian Harmeet Singh Kohli. Among the performers at the Tri-Cities Gala were fusion medley dancer Priyanka Shukla, sibling musicians Gopika and Swamit Kher, Bollywood and Bhangra dance troupes, and Bollywood music was played by DJ Raytrix.
