Dr Arun Garg was inducted as member of Primus Inter Pares of Vancouver Medical Association. This a honor given to members of the medical community for their leadership, fellowship and significant contribution to the society. The past inductees have been luminaries from Vancouver and are the first member outside the Vancouver. He is also the first member of our community to be recognised. The award, which include a beautifully calligrapher certificate was given by Dr Charles Webb President of Vancouver medical Association. Present were President of Canadian Medical Association Dr Gigi Osler and President of Doctors of BC Dr Eric Cadesky.
In accepting the award Dr Garg expressed his appreciation and it is indeed a great honor to be recognised by one’s peers. He has contributed to practice of medicine with high standards over last 40 years as exemplified by several professional recognitions including Dr Don Rix Gold medal leadership award, Dr David Hardwick life time achievement award, and Drishti’s foundational award in contribution to Health; Wallace Wilson Leadership award of UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Award and many others. He was also awarded Hon Doctor of technology by BC Inst of technology. His current vision of building healthy civil society by reducing burden of chronic Diseases like Diabetes is exemplary and visionary effort
