Diversity, Inclusion & Generosity Shine At The 4th Annual Drishti Women’s Golf Tournament

DIVERSITY, INCLUSION & GENEROSITY SHINE AT THE 4th ANNUAL DRISHTI WOMEN’S GOLF TOURNAMENT
Diversity and inclusion illuminated the spirit of generosity at the 4th Annual Drishti Women’s Golf Tournament on July 09, 2026, presented by Save-On-Foods and co-presented by Scotia Wealth Management, raising $14,695 for the Arthritis Society Canada.

Held at the Surrey Golf Club in Surrey, this empowering event brought together more than 150 women from diverse backgrounds for a day of golf, inspiration, and community building. Designed to introduce non-golfers, beginners, and seasoned players to the sport, the tournament was more than a game—it celebrated empowerment, networking, and unity.

The day featured keynote addresses by three exceptional women leaders who shared their journeys of resilience, leadership, and transformation:

  • Jolene Watsyk, Regional Director at Pattison Food Group, has 27 years of experience in the grocery industry, including 19 years in progressive leadership roles, overseeing 15 Save-On-Foods stores across BC’s Lower Mainland and serving as Store Manager for one of the company’s top 10 stores in Western Canada. She develops strong teams, mentors future leaders, and creates opportunities for others to grow. A recipient of the 2023 Canadian Grocer Star Women in Grocery award, she was featured as a retail leader in Grocery Business Magazine in 2024. Jolene is currently completing her Executive MBA with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence Leadership.
  • Dr. Bal Pawa is an integrative physician, educator, TEDx speaker, and passionate advocate for women’s health. For more than 30 years, she has cared for women across British Columbia with a deeply personal approach that blends science, compassion, and connection. As co-founder of Westcoast Women’s Clinic, she has helped pioneer integrative menopause and hormone care in Canada, with a special commitment to supporting South Asian women and breaking the cultural silence around mental health and menopause. Dr. Pawa is the bestselling author of The Mind-Body Cure and is widely recognized for her work in mind-body medicine, nutrition, and “food as medicine,” empowering women to take charge of their health with knowledge, dignity, and confidence.
  • Karam Roberts from the Arthritis Society in Canada. She was born with an adventurous spirit. She never imagined arthritis could steal the life she loved. What began as painful, stiff joints soon escalated to fevers, hearing loss, and difficulty breathing. After a rapid decline, Karam was hospitalized and diagnosed with vasculitis—a rare, life-threatening condition linked to inflammatory arthritis that attacks organs and tissues. Living with invisible symptoms, she struggles to be understood. Refusing to let arthritis define her, she continues to adapt and move forward, guided by optimism and determination. “My health always has to come first, something I previously took for granted,” she says.

After the keynote speeches, eleven influential women were honored for their contributions to the community and charitable initiatives, as well as their continued efforts to make a difference.
