For the 19th year, White Spot Richmond Centre hosted their annual Christmas luncheon on December 25, 2020 raising $10,288 to support Richmond Hospital.

Due to current COVID-19 government health restrictions, the team at White Spot Richmond Centre took a different approach to their annual Christmas luncheon. Planning started in October with the team implementing a limited take out menu which highlighted their most popular item on Christmas Day – the turkey dinner – and timed pickup windows for their customers. The White Spot Richmond Centre team had full support of the community, filling 73 orders three days prior to Christmas Day, showing that even during these challenging times, the community of Richmond was dedicated to support health care in their community.

“Our take-out menu on Christmas Day was amazing and the execution was great,” says Leo Canapi, General Manager of White Spot Richmond Centre. “By streamlining our menu, we were able to reduce food waste and provide our customers with their orders on time. Our staff volunteer their time for our Christmas Day event and they definitely enjoyed the day. It was amazing for us to continue our tradition and see the community come together to help support local health care.”

Owner, Veena Ganatra and their dedicated team, have donated their time, 100% of the restaurant proceeds, and their gratuities from this event benefiting Richmond Hospital Foundation and has raised more than $140,000 since its inception in 2001.

“White Spot Richmond Centre has been a long standing partner of Richmond Hospital Foundation,” says Natalie Meixner, President and CEO, Richmond Hospital Foundation. “The team has been committed to impacting and transforming health care in Richmond and we are grateful for their ongoing dedication to the community of Richmond.”
