In celebration of their 6th season, the Vancouver Amateur Golf League hosted an award and fundraiser dinner this past Canada Day and raised $22,000 towards health care in Richmond.
The event brought together all eight participating golf clubs, with the event sponsor, Upower Financial Services, and this season’s winning team, the Neighborhood Golf Club, taking the lead in inspiring guests to give back in support of health care. Together, with over 300 guests, they raised $22,000 to help drive innovation and quality care at Richmond Hospital and its broader community of care.
Mr. Lu Lu, event committee member of the Vancouver Amateur Golf League and president of Upower Financial, emphasizes the significance of supporting the local community, particularly in health care. “Richmond is unique in nature as it serves not only its residents and businesses, but also the thousands of passengers who pass through Vancouver International Airport. With the philanthropic spirit of all eight golf clubs and our event sponsors, we are proud to contribute towards health care here and take part in ensuring that everyone has access to the highest quality of care when they need it most.”
“We are grateful to the Vancouver Amateur Golf League for organizing this fundraising event and all the participating guests for their generosity,” shares Spencer Gall, Campaign Director, Richmond Hospital Foundation. “It is inspirational to see the power of sports uniting people both in game and philanthropy. Funds raised will play a crucial role in supporting Richmond’s health care team as they continue to provide expert and compassionate care, positively impacting individuals and families in our community.”
Every contribution helps enhance local health care in Richmond.
