With heavy snowfall throughout Metro Vancouver, customers should prepare for longer wait times than normal today. TransLink’s snow plan is activated, which means some changes and slower than normal service.
Here’s what customers should know for each mode:
Bus
60-foot buses have been swapped for 40-foot buses because they are more agile in the snow. This means there is reduced space on routes that normally operate with 60-foot buses.
Road conditions are changing by the minute, so customers should build in extra travel time, and check their specific route.
SkyTrain
SkyTrain is running to all stations on all three lines with staff attending the front of trains to avoid emergency braking due to heavy snowfall. Frequencies and speeds may be slower than normal. Anti-icing trains have been deployed to prevent the power rail from ice buildup.
HandyDART
HandyDART is running with reduced service levels, prioritizing customers with medical appointments, work, or school.
SeaBus + West Coast Express
Regular service.
