On July 9th at Ontario Place, the most anticipated in-person event of the summer will highlight India and famed actor Irrfan Khan.
TORONTO (Ontario) – June 29, 2021 – The Lavazza Drive-In Film Festival, co-organized by the ICFF and CHIN RADIO/TV, is proud to announce that the second edition of the festival will hold of Maddock Films’ original motion picture “Angrezi Medium” on July 9th at Toronto’s renowned drive-in venue at Ontario Place. In celebration of India and actor Irrfan Khan — who passed away last year, the screening will take place with a special introduction from director Homi Adajania.
Maddock Films’ feature film “Angrezi Medium” is a heartwarming comedy about Champak (Irrfan Khan), a small town, Indian sweet shop owner, who is desperate to fulfill his daughter’s ambition to graduate from a recognized London university. Champak’s world quickly spirals out of control as he attempts to send his daughter abroad. The picture is a sequel to the critically acclaimed “Hindi Medium.”
“Angrezi Medium” will represent India within the Lavazza Drive-In Film Festival’s multicultural program. Canadian audiences will finally be able to watch one of India’s most beloved actors, Irrfan Khan, in his final performance along the iconic waterfront venue of Ontario Place. “Angrezi Medium” will allow viewers to experience a picture in which its Canadian release has been deeply affected by the pandemic.

The second edition of the Lavazza Drive-In Film Festival, organized thanks to the support of Rogers Communications and Christie Digital, will run from June 27th to July 17th at Ontario Place, Toronto.
