Ottawa, Ontario, 2 January 2024 – Today, the Canadian South-Asian Women’s Chamber of Commerce announces its official launch. Over the past year, the organization’s founders have been hard at work to ensure that the community’s views are encompassed in the organization’s mission and values.

“Canadian South Asian Women represent a strong, equal, and growing population. South Asian women entrepreneurs and professionals need equal representation and support in business. We need to set an example for our future generation of young women that they can succeed and bridge the gap in all professions,” – Saminder (Sam) Bhalesar, Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer.

The nationwide non-profit seeks to unify female Canadian-South-Asian entrepreneurs, providing them with a space to discuss the issues that they face and allowing for collaboration between businesses and young professionals.

The Canadian South-Asian Women’s Chamber of Commerce will provide a space for innovative business ideas, networking, and supportive resources for the South-Asian community, and subsequently, Canadian society at large.

About the Canadian South-Asian Women’s Chamber of Commerce
Sam Bhalesar’s inspiration for the CSAWCC is a desire to provide Canadian-South Asian women with the support and resources they need to succeed in business. It became clear to her that there was a lack of initiatives available to assist South Asian women professionals and entrepreneurs.

The CSAWCC hopes to do exactly that. With the grassroots initiatives of the organization to help promote entrepreneurship for young South Asian women, to diversify Canada’s business sector and labour market.
