Seeding Announced For 2026 BC School Sports Girls Basketball Provincial Championships

The road to a provincial title is officially set.

The Acwsalcta Thunder (1A), Holy Cross Crusaders (2A), Vernon Panthers (3A) and Argyle Pipers (4A) headline the 2026 BC School Sports Girls Basketball Provincial Championships as the No. 1 seeds in their respective tiers.

The official draws were unveiled today (February 18) for the four-day championship tournament, taking place February 25–28 at Langley Events Centre. The event will showcase 64 teams, 128 games and four provincial champions crowned across the 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A tiers.

1A Tournament

The Acwsalcta Thunder (Bella Coola) enter as the team to beat in 1A. Rounding out the top four seeds are the Cedars Christian Eagles (Prince George), Duncan Christian Chargers and Nechako Valley Viqueens (Vanderhoof).

Also competing (alphabetical order): Aberdeen Hall Gryphons (Kelowna), Bulkley Valley Christian Royals (Smithers), Dasmesh Falcons (Abbotsford), Ebenezer Timbers (Smithers), Grand Forks Wolves, Immaculata Mustangs (Kelowna), John Knox Christian Hawks (New Westminster), King David Lions (Vancouver), Nanaimo Christian Trail Blazers, St. John’s School Eagles (Vancouver), St. Margaret’s School Cardinals (Victoria), and Southpointe Academy Titans (Surrey).

2A Tournament

The Holy Cross Crusaders (Surrey) claim the top seed in 2A. Joining them in the top four are the Credo Christian Kodiaks (Township of Langley), St. Thomas More Collegiate Knights (Burnaby) and Notre Dame Jugglers (Vancouver).

Also in the 2A field (alphabetical order): Collingwood Cavaliers (West Vancouver), Dawson Creek Penguins, Fernie Falcons, J.L. Jackson Jays (Salmon Arm), Lambrick Park Lions (Victoria), Mulgrave Titans (West Vancouver), Pacific Academy Breakers (Surrey), Pacific Christian Pacers (Victoria), Southridge Storm (Surrey), St. John Brebeuf Bears (Abbotsford), West Point Grey Academy Wolves (Vancouver), and Westsyde Whundas (Kamloops).

3A Tournament

The Vernon Panthers sit atop the 3A bracket as the No. 1 seed. They are joined in the top four by the Langley Christian Lightning, St. Michaels University School Blue Jags (Victoria) and Mark R. Isfeld Ice (Courtenay).

The remainder of the 3A field (alphabetical order): Alberni District Storm (Port Alberni), Crofton House Falcons (Vancouver), Duchess Park Condors (Prince George), Little Flower Academy Angels (Vancouver), Mount Baker Wild (Cranbrook), Pitt Meadows Marauders, R.A. McMath Wildcats (Richmond), Sa-Hali Sabres (Kamloops), Sir Charles Tupper Tigers (Vancouver), Steveston-London Sharks (Richmond), Valleyview Vikes (Kamloops), and Yale Lions (Abbotsford).

4A Tournament

North Vancouver’s Argyle Pipers headline the 4A Tournament as the top seed. The Riverside Rapids (Port Coquitlam), M.E.I. Eagles (Abbotsford) and Johnston Heights Eagles (Surrey) complete the top four.

The remaining contenders (alphabetical order): Charles Best Blue Devils (Coquitlam), Dover Bay Dolphins (Nanaimo), G.W. Graham Grizzlies (Chilliwack), Handsworth Royals (North Vancouver), Kelowna Owls, Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers (Surrey), North Peace Grizzlies (Fort St. John), Oak Bay Breakers (Victoria), Okanagan Mission Huskies (Kelowna), Seaquam Seahawks (Delta), Semiahmoo Thunderbirds (Surrey), and W.J. Mouat Hawks (Abbotsford).
