Rotary Club of Richmond has donated $20,000 towards Richmond Hospital Foundation’s Surgical Restart campaign and has dedicated their donation to funding a new cystoscope for the urology department at Richmond Hospital.
An organization of passionate individuals committed to impactful and lasting solutions, the Rotary Club of Richmond have made far-reaching enhancements in Richmond health care in the past three decades including medical imaging, palliative care, the intensive care unit, the emergency department, the new Yurkovich Family Pavilion, and Richmond Lions Manor, a long term care facility serving seniors.
Through a series of self-organized events comprising of a virtual Lunar New Year Dinner, online auction and raffle ticket sales, plus generous donations from members and attendees, Rotary Club of Richmond raised $20,000 to fully fund a new cystoscope for Richmond Hospital. “Rotarians are community-builders focused on improving the communities we live in and investing in the next generation,” says Suna Yee, current President of Rotary Club of Richmond. “Contributing to our community health care system is long-lasting impact that will benefit patients now and in the future. We are honoured to be able to deliver a tangible, lasting solution for Richmond Hospital.”
“Richmond’s growing population, along with number of patients requiring urologic care has increased,” says Candace Hernandez, Vice President, Richmond Hospital Foundation. “Rotary Club of Richmond’s donation will assist in the purchase of a new cystoscope and allow our expert health care team to keep pace with the increasing number of surgical procedures.”
