Pink Shirt Day is an annual anti-bullying event that raises awareness and funding for projects that eliminate bullying.

“As a group, we are committed to creating a respectful and compassionate atmosphere in both our workplace and communities,” says OpenRoad Foundation Manager, Shea Studler. “While Pink Shirt Day is but one day to bring awareness to the issue, we continue to encourage our team to practise kindness and inclusivity on a daily basis, as they play an important role in creating an inclusive and respected environment for all.”

On Pink Shirt Day, OpenRoad associates were provided with an official Pink Shirt Day t-shirt to help jump start conversations amongst the teams and clients. In addition, OpenRoad also created in-store initiatives to encourage customer participation at select dealerships.

OpenRoad Foundation is dedicated to supporting community initiatives, causes, and organizations that move forward their three core pillars:

  •  Environment – alongside several environmental organizations, OpenRoad Foundation will support initiatives to sustain British Columbia’s robust ecosystems for present and future generations  to come;
  •  Community – People with limitations should be empowered and given the opportunity to redefine what is possible for themselves and their communities. In conjunction with many exceptional  groups, OpenRoad Foundation intends to continue to support creative solutions for individuals and their families;
  •  Education – OpenRoad Foundation will support opportunities for academic  success and leadership initiatives through supporting learning activities and scholarships.

In its founding year in 2023, OpenRoad Foundation donated more than $225,000 to community organizations across Canada.

“Pink Shirt Day is one of our first initiatives for 2024, and we look forward to working with even more organizations this year, with some upcoming projects already in the works for April,” adds Studler.
