Richmond, BC, December 5, 2024 – OpenRoad Foundation, the registered philanthropic arm of OpenRoad Group, is thrilled to announce the launch of a new grant initiative for 2025, in celebration of OpenRoad Group’s 25th anniversary. To mark this milestone, the Foundation will award 25 grants of $25,000 each to Metro Vancouver and Greater Toronto-based non-profits and charities, for a total of $625,000 in funding. Grant applications open on January 1, 2025.
Eligible organizations can apply online atwww.openroadfoundation.ca. Applications will be reviewed and awarded based on OpenRoad Foundation’s three core pillars:
  • Community – We believe that people should be empowered and given the opportunity to redefine what is possible for themselves and their communities;
  • Environment – We support initiatives that sustain our robust ecosystem; and
  • Education – We support opportunities for academic success and leadership initiatives.
“Celebrating 25 years of OpenRoad Group is not just about reflecting on our achievements as an organization, but also about recognizing our responsibility to drive positive change in the communities we serve,” explains Christian Chia, CEO of OpenRoad Group and OpenRoad Foundation’s Board Chair. “With our new OpenRoad Foundation 25 by 25 grant initiative, we hope to help 25 additional partners achieve their goals.”

The 25 grants will be decided by a group comprised of OpenRoad Foundation’s board, advisory committee, and Shea Studler, OpenRoad Foundation Manager. Successful grant applicants must have CRA non-profit status and align with one of OpenRoad Foundation’s three key pillars – Community, Environment, and/or Education.

Since OpenRoad Foundation’s inception in 2023, over $750,000 has been gifted to 28 nonprofit organizations in British Columbia and Ontario.

“Our 25 in 25 Grant Initiative highlights what OpenRoad Foundation stands for: making meaningful contributions that reflect our shared values,” says Studler. “We encourage all eligible non-profits and charities in Metro Vancouver and Greater Toronto to apply when applications open on January 1, 2025.”
