Geneviève Tellier becomes Chair of the University of Ottawa Press Editorial Board

Ottawa, May 13, 2025 – Les Presses de l’Université d’Ottawa / University of Ottawa Press (PUO-UOP) is proud to announce the appointment of Professor Geneviève Tellier as Chair of the Editorial Board.

Geneviève Tellier is Full Professor at the University of Ottawa’s School of Political Studies. Her main research interests are government budget processes and the behaviour of public decision-makers with respect to accountability. She is the author of several scientific articles, book chapters, and scholarly works. She has held several administrative positions, including Assistant Director of the School of Political Studies, President of the Quebec Political Science Society, and Treasurer of the Canadian Parliamentary Study Group. She is currently Series Editor of the “Politics and Public Policy” series at the University of Ottawa Press. She is frequently called upon as an expert advisor to various public and semi-public organizations and in the media.

The PUO-UOP Editorial Board plays a crucial role in maintaining the scientific rigour and quality of published materials bearing the University of Ottawa imprimatur. It approves all publications proposals, ensuring the integrity of the peer review process. It participates in the formulation of editorial policy and standards. In addition to Professor Tellier, the PUO-UOP Editorial Committee includes Nadia Abu-Zahra, Carole Fleuret, Adrian Harewood, Catherine Lachaîne, Marie-Claude Thifault, and Lara Mainville.

“Professor Tellier is a respected researcher and public intellectual. She works at the intersection of academia and research mobilization. She has been the series editor of a flagship series, Politics and Public Policy, for several years, and now plays an essential role in the sound management of the PUO-UOP and its outreach,” said Martine Lagacé, Associate Vice-President, Promotion and Development, Research and Innovation, at the University of Ottawa.

Geneviève Tellier commented: “I am honoured to be working with the other members of the Editorial Board, following in the footsteps of its former president, Pierre Anctil, as well as with the series directors. Together, we will ensure the excellence of the books we publish and the strategic positioning of PUO-UOP, which is perhaps the largest publisher in the National Capital Region, certainly the largest bilingual university press in North America, and which will celebrate its 90th anniversary in 2026.”
