This award recognizes OpenRoad Auto’s continued leadership, innovation, and excellence in business.

Richmond, B.C., May 7, 2025 — For the 13th consecutive year, OpenRoad Auto (OpenRoad), B.C.’s largest automotive dealership group, has been recognized for its industry-leading performance, national business practices, and sustained growth with the prestigious 2025 Canada’s Best Managed Companies award. OpenRoad once again retained its Platinum Club status, an exclusive designation for businesses that have achieved Best Managed status for seven years or more.

Celebrating over 30 years, Canada’s Best Managed Companies program awards excellence in private Canadian-owned companies with revenues of $50 million or greater. To attain the designation, companies are evaluated on their leadership in the areas of strategy, culture and commitment, capabilities, and innovation, governance and financial performance.

“Earning this recognition for 13 years running is a true testament to the dedication, innovation, and tenacity of our entire team,” said Christian Chia, CEO of OpenRoad Auto, which celebrates 25 years in business this year. “As we look to the future, we remain focused on responsible growth, furthering our ESG commitments, and continually evolving to meet the needs of our customers and communities. This honour reinforces our mission to lead with purpose and help shape a more sustainable and forward-thinking automotive industry.”

OpenRoad owns and operates 40 locations in B.C., Ontario, and Washington, including 33 automotive retailers and seven collision repair centres. In 2024, OpenRoad Group highlights include: the launch of two of British Columbia’s only Porsche NOW pop-up locations in Langley and Richmond; expanding its Ontario footprint by welcoming ToyotaTown London, Lexus of London, and White Oaks Collision Centre to the group; establishing a rooftop beehive at BMW Langley, as part of its ongoing Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments; renovating and expanding their existing Toyota dealership in White Rock;  and the announcement of OpenShine, which will bring Tommy’s Express Car Wash to Canada for the first time. Its non-profit arm, OpenRoad Foundation, donated more than $466,000 to 23 charity partners focused on three key pillars: Environment, Community, and Education.

“Best Managed is a prestigious award that recognizes the significant and ongoing contributions within Canada’s business landscape,” said Lorrie King, Partner, Deloitte Private, Global Best Managed Leader and Co-Leader, Canada’s Best Managed Companies program. “Companies such as OpenRoad Auto who attain this high standard of excellence demonstrate consistent adaptability, versatility, and strategic acuity.
