Scholarship Applications for 2026 are Now Open
SURREY, BC, December 12, 2025: Be the Light Society (BTLS), a fully volunteer run, registered non-profit charity dedicated to supporting South Asian girls in their pursuit of post-secondary education, is proud to announce the organization reached its goal to donate twenty $2,500 scholarships to deserving South Asian girls in financial need in BC high schools in 2026.
On November 18, 200+ South Asian women representing all industries and professions came together to raise funds for these scholarships at the 4th Annual Be the Light Gala at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver. By awarding 62 scholarships in four years, the society celebrates not only the achievements of its recipients but also the collective efforts of donors, volunteers, and community members who make this meaningful impact possible.

“Seeing our community unite to raise the funds needed for these scholarships was incredibly inspiring,” said Karen Dosanjh, Leadership & Advisory Board Member, BTLS. “At Be the Light Society, we believe that every donation is vote of confidence in a young girl’s dreams, and we are profoundly grateful for the generosity that has fueled our collective mission to empower future generations.”
