BC Liberal Statement On B.C. Athletes At 2022 Winter Olympics

Official Opposition Critic for Gender Equity, Accessibility, Inclusion and Sport Stephanie Cadieux released the following statement today on the closing of the 2022 Winter Olympics

SURREY (February 20, 2022) – Official Opposition Critic for Gender Equity, Accessibility, Inclusion and Sport Stephanie Cadieux released the following statement today on the closing of the 2022 Winter Olympics:

“Today we celebrate the dedication and sportsmanship of the more than 30 B.C. athletes who competed in the 2022 Winter Olympics.

“Over the past two weeks, our B.C. Olympians demonstrated outstanding determination and courage as they competed across many disciplines. Athletes have faced tremendous obstacles since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic but have shown nothing but resilience and perseverance. Our Olympians have also inspired future generations of athletes in our communities.

“We are immensely proud to recognize the 6 B.C. athletes who will be returning home with medals:

Micah Zandee-Hart – Gold, Women’s Hockey
Cassie Sharpe – Silver, Women’s Freestyle Ski – Halfpipe
Marielle Thompson – Silver, Women’s Ski Cross
Justin Kripps – Bronze, Bobsleigh
Ryan Sommer – Bronze, Bobsleigh
Meryeta O’Dine – 2x Bronze, Snowboard Cross
