[Surrey, 10, Sep,2023] – PICS Progressive Intercultural Community Services Society, a distinguished surrey-based non-profit organization dedicated to community welfare, held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, ushering in a new era of leadership and renewed commitment to its mission.
During the AGM, the society welcomed a slate of new board members who bring diverse expertise and fresh perspectives to the organization:
1. Sikander Singh Kang – Registered Physiotherapist (Owner of Cambie Physiotherapy & Health Clinic)
2. Megha Goyal – Lawyer (Megha Goyal Law Corporation)
3. Parminder Singh Thind – Insurance Business (Owner of Think Insurance)
In addition to these appointments, the board also announced new executive positions:
– Chair: Ranbir Manj
– Vice-Chair: Maninder Grewal
– Treasurer: Arvinder Bubber
– Secretary: Megha Goyal
About 70 society members attended the AGM, where CEO of PICS Society, Satbir Cheema delivered a comprehensive report on the organization’s accomplishments and updates from the past year. Notably, the report highlighted the progress made in tendering for the GNDV project, reflecting the society’s ongoing commitment to community development.
“I am very pleased to announce that the tendering process for the construction of the Guru Nanak Diversity Village (GNDV) project has been started by Colliers Project Leaders by posting the RFPQ on the MERX website. Capital funding for this important community project is being provided by the Provincial Government through Fraser Health Authority and BC Housing.” He shared.
During the meeting, the dedicated members of the PICS Society voiced their concerns regarding recent challenges to the organization’s reputation because of the malicious propaganda and lies being spread by a particular media outlet. They appealed to the newly appointed board to take appropriate legal action against the individuals responsible for tarnishing the reputation of the non-profit and its diligent employees.
Mr. Ranbir Manj, the new Chair of the Board has pledged to include this matter as the top agenda item in their first Board meeting, “we understand your concerns and will be addressing the matter in our very first Board meeting.” He told the members.
PICS Society looks forward to this new chapter under the guidance of its dynamic board members and executives. The organization remains steadfast in its commitment to its mission and values, and is poised to continue making a positive impact on the community it serves.
