Angela, 19, is a rising star in golf, carving out a name for herself through perseverance, skill, and passion. She has successfully balanced Division I collegiate golf with her academic pursuits at the University of Arizona. Her triumphs are not just about her; they are about inspiring future generations of female athletes to pursue their dreams despite obstacles.

“My father nurtured my passion for sports with weekends spent on the golf course with him. The 2015 CP Women’s Open in Vancouver ignited my determination to pursue golf seriously. Watching professional golfers compete at the highest level made me realize that the sport could be more than just a hobby—it could be my future.”

Her drive and dedication quickly translated into competitive success. From 2019 to 2024, Angela represented the Canadian National Team. Her early achievements included victories at the 2017 BC Bantam Championship and the 2019 Future Links Ontario Championship. In 2020, she made history by securing the BC Junior and BC Juvenile Championships, earning the prestigious BC Triple Crown title.

Resilience and excellence have characterized her journey through competitive golf. She has consistently achieved top finishes in elite tournaments. In 2021, she won the Glencoe Invitational. She finished tied for third at the Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship, further solidifying her status as a force to be reckoned with. Her impressive performance continued into 2022 when she clinched the Next Gen Pacific Championship title.

“One of my most memorable moments came in 2023 when I won the Clover Cup, my first NCAA tournament victory.” She was particularly delighted because her father was present. Tyler McNeil, her longtime coach, and Jason Glass, her fitness coach, have developed her mental fortitude and technical prowess under their guidance.

“As a Division 1 athlete, I understand the challenges of balancing sports and academics. However, my interest in business management extends beyond golf. Time management is essential. I plan my week carefully, dedicating time to my studies and training.”

After morning classes, she trains intensely in the afternoon. She also does strength and conditioning exercises to maintain her peak physical condition. She emphasizes that a student-athlete should have discipline and planning to be successful.

“My mother has been a pillar of support for me throughout my career. She encouraged and guided me on my journey.” Her mother’s emotional support has been instrumental in Angela’s success during tough competitions and celebrations.

“Competing at a high level presents significant mental challenges. Maintaining composure under stress is essential to golf, and I’ve developed strategies to help me do so. My mantra is: All is well. Repeating these words helps me stay calm and focused, especially during high-stakes moments on the course.”

Angela focuses on her success and is determined to inspire and uplift the next generation of female athletes. She understands the importance of representation in sports. She hopes to encourage young girls to pursue golf and other competitive activities.

“Lexi Thompson inspired me, and now I want to be that inspiration for others,” Angela says. “Seeing someone who looks like you succeed can make all the difference in believing you can do it too.”

She is also passionate about promoting inclusivity in golf and advocates for greater opportunities for athletes from underrepresented backgrounds. Although she has not faced direct discrimination, she recognizes the broader challenges of diversity and inclusion within the sport. Her goal is to contribute to a future where all athletes can access the resources and support they need to thrive, regardless of their background.

“My ultimate goal is to join the LPGA Tour and one day claim the title of World Number One,” she says with a felicitous disposition. She remains grounded in her journey, recognizing that each tournament and every challenge is a step toward that dream.

“Golf has taught me patience, determination, and the importance of focus,” Angela reflects. “These lessons go beyond the course and apply to every aspect of my life.”

With her sights set on a professional career, Angela works tirelessly, supported by her family, coaches, and teammates. She envisions a future where she excels in her profession and gives back to the sport, inspiring others to pursue their dreams fearlessly.

Angela Arora is more than just a golfer; she is a trailblazer, a role model, and a force for change. With her unwavering commitment and passion, she is shaping the future of golf for generations to come.
