Shah delivered remarks during the opening ceremony, thanking festival organizers, volunteers and participating cultural groups for their contributions to making Surrey a more inclusive and welcoming community. Hosted by the City of Surrey, Surrey Fusion Festival is one of British Columbia’s largest multicultural festivals. Since its inception in 2008, the festival has grown to feature more than 40 cultural pavilions representing communities from North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania. The festival showcases international cuisine, cultural exhibits, and live music and dance performances.
