Together, donors helped fully equip a future-ready Greczmiel Family Surgical Centre, ensuring all 11 operating rooms will be ready for surgery upon opening. Community philanthropists, Cindy and Pius Chan, along with Tony and Louisa Ma, stepped forward with leadership gifts of $500,000 each, inspiring others to join them in elevating health care in Richmond.

Because of the generosity of donors, patients and families across Richmond and beyond will have timely access to high quality surgical care right here in Richmond.
“We are incredibly grateful to our donor community for helping us make the final 2 operating rooms a reality,” shares Spencer Gall, Chief Philanthropy Officer, Richmond Hospital Foundation. “Fully equipping all 11 operating rooms for opening day will ensure the surgical teams at Richmond Hospital have the tools they need to deliver exceptional care right here in Richmond. This kind of community-driven impact is what will continue to enhance and shape health care for families here in Richmond for generations to come.”
During the evening, Richmond Hospital Foundation President & CEO, Natalie Meixner, presented Lorraine Palmer with the 2025 Leadership Award in recognition of her exceptional commitment towards health care in Richmond. A longtime philanthropic leader, Lorraine’s vision for the future has inspired generous support for the Yurkovich Family Pavilion and Continuing Education for Richmond health care professionals through the Lorraine Palmer Education Fund. Her dedication to strengthening the future of health care will make a lasting impact for patients and families throughout the Richmond community.
