Review by Veeno Dewan,
The Land Rover Range Rover remains the top luxury SUV in the world. It exemplifies sophistication with its commanding appearance, unique British design language, and sleek, minimalist style. The 2025 Range Rover keeps this look with a refined, smoother body and a distinctive rear design that features hidden tail lights.
It is available in nine trim levels, offering a range of powertrains, including the Range Rover Electric, a plug-in hybrid, and fuel-efficient mild hybrid gasoline and diesel engines. The highest trim features a 4.4-liter V8 engine in the Range Rover SV (as tested), producing 615 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, which enables 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.5 seconds. Power is delivered through an eight-speed automatic transmission with All-Wheel Drive and a comprehensive set of advanced multi-terrain systems. Both Short and long-wheelbase versions are available, with options for seven seats and a Sport model. The “SV” badge signifies the flagship Range Rover.

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover starts at $130,400 and goes up to $267,950. The 600-horsepower SV begins at $268,455 for the Short Wheelbase (SWB) with standard length. The SV LWB (Long Wheelbase) is priced at $267,950. The standard equipment list is impressive in its own right. Land Rover also offers custom paint colors, accent colors, interior trim, fabrics, and finishes tailored to your preferences at an additional cost.
We tested the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover SV SWB. This is the ultimate high-end, super-luxurious version, featuring an opulent interior and every luxury and convenience option. It comes with advanced technology and powerful performance. The base price was $239,000. With options and special equipment, our tester totaled $280,810, plus inspection, delivery, and taxes.
The SV Signature Suite features a luxurious four-seat cabin equipped with amenities, including a full-length rear console, a refrigerator, deployable tables, and individual rear touchscreens. Our tester was beautifully finished with stunning Serenity Sequoia Green Aniline Leather seats up front, complemented by contrasting Perlino Semi-Aniline seats at the rear. The cabin looks simply exquisite, with its rich interior trim, high-quality leather, metal, and wood materials, and detailed accents that surround you. The large central screen is organized logically, and the Range Rover infotainment system is user-friendly. A 13.1-inch touchscreen dominates the front dash and fully incorporates new technology, primarily all touch controls. The front and rear seats not only look fantastic, but they are also incredibly comfortable. The rear seat features power reclining capabilities, providing armchair-like comfort. The list of interior options and extras is extensive. There is 818 liters of space behind the rear seat.

On the road, the SV’s powerful engine provides impressive performance with smoothness and a plush, comfortable ride. The SV’s air suspension easily handles long highways and offers reasonable control around turns and in-city driving. The riding experience feels almost like being in a luxury private jet or a gentleman’s club, with plush leather seats and a richly appointed interior. If you choose to go off-road, the Range Rover is equipped with Terrain Response, height-adjustable air suspension, ground-level cameras, locking front and rear differentials, and four-wheel steering, which provides a tighter turning radius. There is only a slight lean during sharp cornering, which is expected given that this is a large, tall, and heavy SUV.
To sum up, the Range Rover SV is flawless and proudly the best, but only for the wealthy. It is confidently ultra-luxurious, fast, eerily calm, serene, and incredibly comfortable. It looks stunning, and the quality is exceptional both inside and out. The SV is a more refined, less flashy alternative to sportier rivals like the Lamborghini Urus, Aston Martin DBX, and Ferrari Purosangue. Its main competitor is the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600. For the lucky and discerning few, the SV is extraordinary and out of reach!
