RICHMOND, BC – Guided by the principle of “love your neighbour as you love yourself”, Koinonia Evangelical Church has raised over $25,000 towards Richmond Hospital Foundation’s POWER UP Campaign. The Foundation’s newest fundraising campaign supports improving access and increasing efficiency in the future Yurkovich Family Pavilion, Richmond Hospital’s new acute care tower.

“We want to spread love, care and blessings to the many families in our community,” says Haines Lee, Deacon, Koinonia Evangelical Church. “The Yurkovich Family Pavilion will enable enhanced patient care and help launch a new era of health care in Richmond. By supporting the POWER UP Campaign, we are supporting our community members in living a healthier, more fulfilling, and joyous life.”

True to its name – Koinonia – which means community and shared contributions in Greek, the Koinonia Evangelical Church has been a champion of health care in the Richmond community since 2017. In addition to their contribution towards the future Yurkovich Family Pavilion, they have also supported the purchase of different medical equipment for the hospital over the years.

“We are so thankful to Koinonia Evangelical Church for always holding the Richmond community close to their heart,” shares Spencer Gall, Chief Philanthropy Officer, Richmond Hospital Foundation. “Their philanthropic support will ensure the new acute care tower sets the stage for the adoption of new technologies and advances in health care delivery, providing lasting, future-forward care for Richmond.”

By introducing technological efficiencies and advancements, especially in the Emergency Department and Operating Rooms, the POWER UP Campaign aims to elevate access, efficiency, and patient-centred care in the Yurkovich Family Pavilion.
