RICHMOND, BC – Inspiring the next generation through art and giving back, the Vancouver Artopia Youth Society held their seventh annual International Youth Arts Contest in Richmond on June 8th and raised $10,000 towards Richmond Hospital Foundation’s Medical Imaging Centre Campaign.

“The success of this event is a testament to the enthusiastic participation of art studios, teachers, children and their families, as well as the commitment of our volunteers,” shares Katya Gao, Chair of the Artopia International Youth Art Contest 2024 committee. “We are proud of the young talent who have dedicated their artistic expression to enhancing health care in Richmond, and thankful to all the supporters for their time and generosity.”

The annual event attracted hundreds of attendees who came to appreciate the high-quality artwork created by local youth. Since its inception in 2018, Vancouver Artopia Youth Society has been a dedicated community fundraiser and supporter of health care in Richmond.

“Thank you to the Vancouver Artopia Youth Society for organizing this meaningful event that showcases both local talent and community generosity,” says Spencer Gall, Chief Philanthropy Officer of Richmond Hospital Foundation. “The funds raised will help increase access and advance the medical imaging technologies our health care team needs for this growing community. We are grateful to everyone involved for helping us build a healthier future in Richmond.”

Richmond Hospital Foundation will help fund the acquisition of new imaging technologies for diagnosing, tracking, and monitoring medical conditions. These technologies encompass CT scanners, MRI machines, mammography machines, SPECT machines, X-Ray machines, and interventional radiology machines, in addition to a satellite medical imaging centre in the future Emergency Department.
