SACH South Asian Community Hub is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Daljit Gill-Badesha as its new Executive Director. With a distinguished background in social services and being a multi-industry business leader with over 25 years managing complex projects in the non-profit and local government sectors, Dr. Gill-Badesha brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for community development to our non-profit organization.
Daljit is deeply committed to promoting diverse, inclusive, and healthy communities where all citizens are supported to be healthy, active, and resilient. She is a dedicated volunteer in Surrey and brings rich expertise in child development, community building, and equity-centered design, and her leadership skills are expected to drive SACH to new heights in achieving its goals. Daljit will play a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission to foster the health and well-being of underserved diverse communities living in B.C. by providing low-barrier services that are linguistically relevant and culturally appropriate, in addition to advocacy through a South Asian perspective.
Daljit expressed her enthusiasm in joining SACH. “I am honored to be part of this organization and am eager to contribute to its growth and serve the people living in B.C. I look forward to working collaboratively with the dedicated staff, volunteers, and supporters to make a meaningful impact in our community.”
“With Daljit at the helm, we are confident we will continue to grow the organization and expand our partnerships as we work towards our goal of a community hub in Surrey,” said Harman S. Pandher, Chair of the Board.
SACH was founded in 2020 and since then, through significant volunteer efforts and community-based partnerships, the non-profit has been able to provide free, accessible, and culturally appropriate resources to the community. The non-profit is set to hold its first Annual “SACH a Worthy Cause” Fundraising Gala on April 26, 2024 at Crown Palace Banquet Hall in Surrey.
