VANCOUVER, B.C. – LAST STAND TO NOWHERE – The Vancouver produced proof of concept film, awarded ACHIEVEMENT IN SHORT FORM FILMMAKING AT THE COVELLITE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL IN BUTTE, MONTANA.
The Covellite International Film Festival focuses on daring international independent film as a gateway to collaboration with the burgeoning Montana film community.
The project has received acclaim for both the film and the poster which was originally conceived as a 60” x 40” oil on canvas painting. Both are a part of the exhibit Felice House: Face West at the Museum of the Southwest in Midland, Texas from July 13th to September 8th, 2019.
Last Stand to Nowhere is a 15 min film that is an all-female re-imagining of the Gunfight at the OK Corral inspired by filmmaker Michelle Muldoon’s childhood love of sharing Western classics with her father on wintery Canadian Sunday afternoons. The film features Chelah Horsdal of Man in the High Castle, Johannah Newmarch of When Calls the Heart and Luvia Petersen of CityTV’s new hit series, The Murders. The proof of concept re-imagines the Gunfight at the OK Corral as a battle between the sisters that make up the Clanton Gang and the Earps, bringing women to the forefront of the classic heroic battle for law and order.
