Since 2017, A Taste of Reach Fundraiser has raised over $200,000 for children with extra needs at Reach Child and Youth Development Society (REACH). This year, Tasty Indian Bistro will again host the popular fundraiser at its North Delta restaurant from 6-9:30 pm on Oct.12. “We are immeasurably grateful to Tasty Indian Bistro for their generosity, community involvement and for hosting a fabulous night for all!” says REACH Events & Fundraising Coordinator Tamara Veitch. “More than half of the families Reach supports are in North Delta. It is so important to us to connect with our community here.”

The evening includes welcome cocktail reception, gourmet South Asian Hors d ‘Oeuvres, and selected wine and beer pairings. Guests gain insight into REACH programs listening to guest speakers, including a South Asian family who will share their experiences with REACH. There will be music and a live auction followed by a family style sit-down dinner of world class Indian cuisine, with curries, naan breads and rice.
A Taste of Reach is a blend of culture and humanitarianism which brings awareness to supporting every child along their unique developmental pathway. This year there is a special focus on providing funds to REACH’s Access2Play Capital Campaign which will raise funds to more than double the size of the public playground at the North Delta Recreation Centre and Reach Preschool North. This playground will help meet growing population needs and create a hub that is more accessible for children, youth and adults with wheelchairs, sensory needs, and mobility issues.

Reach Child and Youth Development Society is a non-profit charitable society that has been providing services to children and their families since 1959. At Reach we believe in the potential of every child, and we know each child is unique. We work together with families to recognize each child’s strengths and develop their abilities. Reach currently provides programs and services to families in Delta, Surrey and Langley B.C. Over 1200 children and their families benefit from our services on an annual basis.
