Sandip Kaur (Chohan) Sodhi is a British- born Canadian author and teacher with a South Asian (Punjabi) background. Her parents immigrated from India to England in 1967 and then to Canada in 1971. She is the youngest of six children – 5 females and 1 male.

Gurpreet Kaur Bains is an award-winning educator with 23 years of teaching experience in Surrey. She is the Languages Department Head at LA Matheson Secondary School and trained as a Science, Special Education, and Punjabi language teacher. She has actively collaborated with the Ministry of Education and the Museum of Surrey in developing South Asian curriculum and teaching resources.

Both of her parents are successful entrepreneurs and instilled a strong sense of community and giving back at a young age.

Karen is trailblazer in the Marketing, Public Relations & Communications industry in Canada. She was the first person of South Asian descent to serve on the Board of the Canadian Public Relations Society-Vancouver (CPRS) from 1995-1998. She is also a historian who volunteered her time to write a book which documents the journeys of the first South Asians in Canada.
