Canada Launches New Initiative to Protect Vulnerable Women and Girls in Central America

As a friend, ally and regional partner, Canada is committed to helping countries in the northern part of Central America address high levels of violence and growing social and economic instability. These difficult conditions have forcibly displaced thousands—including many women and girls—and contributed to a significant increase in irregular migration, which puts already vulnerable people at greater risk.

Dr. Ambedkar Maharprinirvan Day

Heartfelt gratitude and tributes were paid on December 6 to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on his 65th death anniversary.  The day is now popularly known as the Dr. Ambedkar Maharprinirvan Day.  Ambedkar passed away on December 6, 1956 and left positive impact on the lives of millions of Indians in India and across the Diaspora.

Charity Launches Emergency Flood Response and Appeal

The Salvation Army has launched a massive emergency response effort to help victims of the worst flood in a century in British Columbia. Emergency Units are on the ground in six of the hardest hit communities across the province providing food, hydration, shelter, clothing, and blankets to first responders, evacuees, and flood victims.
