Opt for the partly dressy French braid, a Dutch braid or a halo braid, all of which keep the hair off your face making an ideal choice for your sangeet or mehendi. For your fancier functions choose a French braid bun, a fishtail flower braid or the favorite waterfall braid.
For long hair
For the wedding where your head might be covered, and hair pulled back, opt for the ballerina bun. For your reception, you can try out a classy chignon or if you want your hair open you can try for a half-updo with twisties from the front and hair let loose or better still a bun at the back.

All you have to do to create big layered curls is to put a few flowers on the lower end of your hair to get the desired look.
Rita Anandwala, a stylist gives us a few pointers for wedding day hair. “If you’re wearing a pastel shade lehenga this wedding season, cover your bun with fresh pink roses to complement the look. Go ahead and tie a bun, tuck in roses from all sides to cover it completely. A fishtail braid wrapped with mogra garlands looks lovely alongside a white and golden or mustard sangeet outfit. Add a lovely touch of roses to your ethnic, bridal bun by tucking in a few delicate little roses in the hue of your choice. Try mogra and roses both this summer, create a bun with a puffed crown, secure with bobby pins. Tuck some roses on the upper half of the bun and mogra garlands on the lower half, and you are good to steal the show.”
