Taste of the week: Sweet Potato & Date Halva

Ingredients

  • 1 cup steamed sweet potato, mashed.
  • 3/4 cup minced seedless dates
  • 1/4 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup golden raisins
  • 1 tbsp slivered almonds for garnishing
  • a pinch of salt

Method

Blend thoroughly mashed sweet potato, minced dates, lemon juice, and cardamom powder. Garnish with golden raisins, nutmeg and slivered almond. Chill in refrigerator before serving.

Serves 4.
