“She is absolutely revolutionary and so evolved that her ideas are really a paradigm shift that can change the world”, says Oprah Winfrey. Dr. Shefali Tsabary has, no doubt, single-handedly begun a revolution that will change the way we parent and the way we live.
As parents we all want to do the very best for our children. We follow and learn from what was done before us and that which is being done around us. We try very hard to raise children to fit into a culturally acceptable mold and achieve through them our own unfulfilled potential.
We all carry within us a deep desire to make our children and through them our own selves fit into and be applauded by society. We drag them lesson to lesson, teach them to compete with one another and expect them to grow into happy and successful beings.
This egoistic approach to parenting leaves us at so many times feeling miserable, and unhappy. We find solace in labeling parenthood as difficult and exhausting. Further more this approach creates children who feel isolated, unheard, hateful, resentful, anxious and unworthy.
As a society, we all accept this limited, inauthentic, miserable living as life. We then pass on our ideology and models of living onto our children. They, like us, willingly and unconsciously carry on the torch.
Fortunately for us, along come some exceptional individuals who not only question status quo but find real solutions. They make it their life’s mission to move humanity in the right direction. Dr. Shefali Tsabary is one such individual.
As a mother and clinical psychologist she questioned her own reactive responses to her young daughter. She refused to accept the conventional approach. In the process she has discovered what she calls “Conscious Parenting”. An approach that teaches us to look within, find our own most authentic self and meet our child’s true spirit from this place.
We have all often wished our kids came with a manual and Dr. Shefali helps us understand that they do, we all do. ” It lies within us. It’s been buried under years of conditioning”. She encourages us to begin our own journey inwards to find our inner compass and guide. I truly find her approach uplifting and empowering. With this knew knowledge we realize the ability to create each moment lies within us. That, to me, is powerful. It is the beginning of a whole new level of living.
I met Dr. Shefali through my own quest to continue learning, growing and evolving. My husband and I were at a Mindvalley Reunion in Los Angles. As one of the many great speakers at this event, Dr. Shefali blew me away with her simple, yet so profound approach to parenting. Her seamless, wise, knowledgeable, engaging and humorous presentation left me yearning for more. I also had a brief conversation with her as I got her to autograph a copy of her New York Time’s best-seller book Conscious Parenting. I was in awe of her pragmatic, beautiful personality.
Back home, I read her books, watched YouTube videos and listened to many of her podcasts. She, I am proud to say, has become my inspiration. As I strive to find and live my most authentic life, I find it so inspiring that one ordinary individual, while working towards a Ph.D. questions the way we do things and not only finds the answers but brings about a revolution to the way we view our lives and the way we parent.
I found her message and ideas to be so powerful that I knew I had to be an instrument in bringing her message to my part of the world. I am ever so grateful to my amazing sahelis (friends) at The Saheli Foundation who took on this mission with me to make this dream a reality.
We are all excited and proud to be able to bring her message to our city. Whether you are a parent to be, a parent, a grandparent, teacher, counsellor, or an individual seeking to live life at a higher level this event is for you.
Come and “Awaken yourself to your own healing. Heal your own baggage, discover your own wounds, resolve your own unmet needs and turn the spot light within. That is the entry point for raising a resilient child. That is the way to creating connection.”
Thank you Dr. Shefali Tsabary for your courage, wisdom and leadership. You are an inspiration to us all. We are ready to look in the mirror!
