Three Questions for John Horgan on Surrey Policing

As more and more questions arise over the NDP’s decision to approve a change in Surrey policing, John Horgan has chosen to hide from providing any details on his government’s involvement – particularly the rush to appoint a new chief of the force.

VANCOUVER (October 9, 2020) – As more and more questions arise over the NDP’s decision to approve a change in Surrey policing, John Horgan has chosen to hide from providing any details on his government’s involvement – particularly the rush to appoint a new chief of the force.

So here are three questions that Horgan needs to answer:

  1. What was discussed in the November 2018 meeting between NDP Solicitor General Mike Farnworth, Mayor Doug McCallum, and a lobbyist, who is now accused of having pre-selected the future chief?
  2. Why did the NDP not ensure a feasibility report, as recommended in a report from PWC, be completed?
  3. Why did Horgan approve the transition without allowing proper consultation?

John Horgan and the BC NDP have the ultimate responsibility for keeping communities safe and have failed to provide the level of transparency needed to protect Surrey residents.
