On Saturday, 8th of June, how could I have not taken the family to the circus in SURREY? Hence, we lined up at 7 pm to get inside the BIG TOP to experience the wonders of masters of ROYAL CANADIAN FAMILY CIRCUS!

Well managed entrance into the tent led to incredible gift, food and face painting shops and to another tunnel entrance further leading one to the grandeur of the world of dedicated performers from all over the world. Well positioned around the circle, we all, grandma, daughter, son, wife and myself settled on comfortable seats. It was the first time for my children-Anhad and Suvi to experience the world of circus.

Soon, Joseph Dominic Bauer- the ring master took over the circle with his spellbinding presence and introduced the jam-packed excited audience to the world-renowned Flying Cortes Family from Columbia, South America. They meticulously performed astonishing acrobatic double and triple maneuvers.

With biggest smiles on my kid’s faces, and with loud cheering and clapping audience, the Circus was indeed happening under the BIG TOP!  The performances by the Rola Bola Aristov show by George Aristov from Russia, showed his mastery of unique hand balancing act. His unbelievable spinning and twisting illusion of various geometric shapes were performed with precise hand-eye-body coordination- indeed one of its kind of performance. The Juggling duo of Igor and Tatiana astounded the audience with their unbelievable skills to juggle.

Joseph Dominic, led his circus by a daredevil act on 50’ Wheel of Destiny-that left each one in the audience wonder struck! He blindfolded himself and walked around the outer surface of the fast-moving wheel of destiny- a finely executed act that could only have been possible after strenuous practice for many years!

The extreme Chinese acrobats took over the circus with their colourful dresses, well choreographed act and with lots and lots of ease in their acrobatic performance of an extremely difficult act! The group performed Chair balancing act- that gave goose bumps to all. Masterfully done was the act of juggling Chinese Vase and exceptional was the slack wire act as well!

The attendees were not only being in awe of the masters and their performances, but also on humor side the Strongman Comedy Act from Russia got each one under the Big top laughing!

The two motor cycle acts added thrill and enhanced excitement to the Circus experience. Dominguez Motoswing act from Columbia performed dare acrobat tricks as each performer got launched into the air by motorcycle swing. The highlight of the performance was jumping through the ring of fire after being launched off the motorcycle swing! The Dominguez family death defying performance in the motor cycle globe was an act worth remembering for years to come. With no room for error, the three motorcyclists in the globe brought each one to a nail-biting experience.

The performances in the circle soon came to an end with the FINALE! But what the family, especially the kids experienced was the finest and best sought- after circus of Canada! The success of decision to take the family to the circus got validated when my daughter Suvi said, “Papa, we are coming here again NEXT YEAR!”  Thank you to all the performers of the Royal Canadian Family Circus for bringing your families to ours…see you NEXT YEAR in SURREY AGAIN!
