VANCOUVER — Local entrepreneur and community leader David Grewal has been officially nominated as the BC Liberal candidate for Vancouver-Fraserview in the next provincial election.

Grewal was acclaimed during a virtual candidate selection meeting and was joined by BC Liberal Leader Andrew Wilkinson and party supporters from throughout BC.

“I’m excited to welcome David Grewal to our growing, renewed team of community leaders who care about opportunity for all of BC,” Wilkinson said. “David’s years of business experience and community involvement will make him a strong voice for Vancouver-Fraserview as we work towards a prosperous, resilient, sustainable future.”

“Thank you to the BC Liberal members of Vancouver-Fraserview for having the confidence in me to lead our team to victory in the next election,” said Grewal. “I’m getting right down to business, reaching out to constituents as we develop our plan to bring affordability, prosperity, and opportunity to all of BC.”

Grewal will face incumbent NDP MLA George Chow in a riding that the BC Liberals held from 2001 until 2017, where the gap in the last election was only 989 votes.

David Grewal is the fifth candidate to be nominated by the BC Liberal for the upcoming election as the party’s renewal continues. The BC Liberals will continue to nominate candidates throughout the summer in preparation for a potential fall election.
