Richmond Chinese Community Society raises $60,000 to help fund new Emergency medical equipment and support Richmond Hospital Foundation’s Starlight Gala

Richmond Chinese Community Society (RCCS) raised $60,000 in support of local health care in Richmond at their 29th annual Fundraising Gala. Mr. Peter and Mrs. May Chow generously donated $50,000 of the $60,000 to help purchase two new emergency defibrillators.

Richmond, B.C. –Richmond Chinese Community Society (RCCS) raised $60,000 in support of local health care in Richmond at their 29th annual Fundraising Gala. Mr. Peter and Mrs. May Chow generously donated $50,000 of the $60,000 to help purchase two new emergency defibrillators. The remaining $10,000 will benefit the Richmond Hospital Foundation Starlight Gala.

This year’s fundraising marks the first time that the RCCS has raised funds for Richmond Hospital, who noted they were inspired by the important need to play a part in improving health care services in Richmond.

“Ensuring our entire community has the very best health care requires state-of-the-art medical equipment and the financial support of donors,” said Nelson Kwan, Richmond Hospital Foundation Board Director. “We are very grateful to both RCCSS and Mr. Peter and Mrs. May Chow, for their generosity and efforts to help improve care for patients and their families here at home.”

Over 30 years, Richmond Hospital Foundation has raised over $80 million to help purchase vital medical equipment, improve patient care services and upgrade facilities at Richmond Hospital and our community of care in Richmond.
