As one of the largest Lions Clubs in North America, the Vancouver Diamond Lions Club has been involved in contributing to positive change in Richmond for years. Deeply rooted in Richmond’s philanthropic landscape, Vancouver Diamond Lions Club serves to inspire, equip, and transform the communities they live in. Over the years, they have inspired members to give generously to Richmond Hospital Foundation benefitting Richmond Hospital’s lab, COVID-19 response fund, and the new Yurkovich Family Pavilion.

“At Vancouver Diamond Lions Club, our members proudly standby the fundamentals of ‘lionism’ and live our motto ‘we serve’,” says Jackie Lee, Vancouver Diamond Lions Club President (2020/2021). “Helping fund necessary equipment and technology will transform the quality of our lives. As stated by our International President, ‘the world needs us now more than ever’ and we know that supporting Richmond Hospital Foundation is one of the steps towards building a brighter future for our community.”

Since October 2020, Vancouver Diamond Lions Club has actively led multiple creative fundraising initiatives including an online music concert, face mask sale, and take out dinner with the goal to raise funds in supporting health care in Richmond. United in kindness and diversity, their motto for the turbulent year of 2020, members of the Vancouver Diamond Lions Club banded together to raise a total of $20,503 for Richmond Hospital Foundation.

“We are touched by Vancouver Diamond Lions Club’s dedication to fundraise for Richmond Hospital Foundation’s Surgical Restart campaign,” says Natalie Meixner, President and CEO, Richmond Hospital Foundation. “Because of their donation, we will be able to provide our surgeons with both innovative and necessary tools to care for those who need it the most.”
