PICS Society is celebrating International Youth Day on August 12, 2020 virtually and extends you an invitation to join us to inspire, encourage, support, guide and empower youth, to create a better future and supportive communities. This virtual event is a platform to create awareness and share available resources.
Event details:
- Youth (aged 15-30 years) will be sharing real life stories that how they have impacted their surroundings positively. The positive change, howsoever little, made by them is more important than the magnitude of the change. We would encourage if youth from your projects can share their experiences/initiatives.
- They (single or group) will be speaking on different topics: ‘Politics as a Career’, ‘The Purpose of Life is a Life of Purpose’, ‘How I cope up with the challenges in life’, ‘Giving back to Community’, ‘My Planet/Earth/World, My Responsibility’, ‘I vs We – let me fix the responsibility’.
- Different dignitaries engaged in youth development will address the event. There will also be a launch of the project #IamTheChange, where by youth led projects will be undertaken, to make the earth a better place to live. At the end, there will be an open house for our youth to put forward their ideas, thoughts and feelings.
Please see attached the poster for further circulation to your teams, clients, friends and families. Pre-recorded videos (as defined in #1 above) and entries to speak on different topics (as defined in #2 above) can be submitted to the email rahul.sachdev@pics.bc.ca. If you plan to go live and speak on this event, please send us the details to the same email in order for us to include it in our itinerary. Last date for submission is August 11th 2020 by end of the day.
