Vancouver, BC – The PNE is proud to present the next round of events in their summer 2020 lineup. Starting August 1, Playland – Vancouver’s iconic amusement park – is pleased to welcome back thrill seekers to enjoy an expanded selection of rides that have been added to the 2020 modified park experience lineup, including the iconic Wooden Roller Coaster. This BC Day long weekend will also bring the fourth installment in the Taste of the PNE series – Best of BC Celebration.
“We were thrilled to welcome families back to Playland on July 10 and we are ready to expand that offering, providing guests the opportunity to enjoy their favourite summer thrill rides again this year,” says PNE President and CEO Shelley Frost. “We’re also excited to present the next event in our Taste of the PNE series, celebrating our incredible province this weekend Aug 1-3. We are supporting more local vendors for this drive-thru and are able to welcome guests who don’t have access to a car for a safe, new, dine-in the park experience. Come celebrate BC with us this weekend!”
Starting August 1, Playland will be open on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. – all tickets must be pre-purchased in advance at ticketleader.ca.
In addition to the 12 rides and attractions that have been available since the park’s opening, the expanded selection features some of Playland’s most popular: The Wooden Roller Coaster, The Beast, Westcoast Wheel, Pirate Ship, Atmosfear, Music Express, Breakdance, Rock’n’Cars, Dizzy Drop and the Revelation (note: Revelation is an additional ticketed experience).
Paid admission to Playland includes unlimited rides during your visit, and a souvenir Playland face mask. It is mandatory to wear a face covering while in queues and on rides.
In support of safe, clean fun, the PNE reminds guests to stay home if they’re sick. Playland will have an enhanced list of safety precautions to ensure the health and safety of all visitors and staff. These include:
- Limited capacity and transactions – capacity has been reduced to allow for physical distancing so you must purchase tickets in advance for date/time specific entry. Cash will not be accepted.
- Space for safety – practice physical distancing, keep 6 feet / 2 metres between your party and other guests. Plexiglass shields have been installed where possible.
- Clean hands often – wash regularly with soap. Use sanitizer before and after each ride. Enhanced cleaning measures have been added throughout the park.
- Masks required – face coverings must be worn in queue lines and on rides and they are recommended throughout the park.
