For 2024, the Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman Coupe and roadsters are getting a new variant called the “Style Edition,” based on the entry-level versions of the iconic German sportscar makers’ smallest model. Alas, the new models are not pumped-up performance offshoots but essentially cosmetically upgraded special editions. They have the same mechanicals and powerplants as base Porsche Boxsters and Caymans, plus some interior cabin options added as standard equipment. The new models arrive equipped with the standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. A manual transmission comes standard, and the seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission is optional.

The aim of the 2024 New Style editions is to add some spice to the Boxster and Cayman lineup. To provide something different in the Porsche 718 range – there are new colors and cosmetic options via vibrant hues and eye-catching finishes.

Style Edition buyers gain 20-inch 718 Spyder wheels painted high-gloss black and featuring the colored Porsche crests. You can optionally choose a Style Edition “contrast package” that paints the wheels in high-gloss white instead. This package includes decorative white stripes on the hood, a white “Porsche” logo on the side and the model designation in gloss white. A Style Edition contrast package in black is available that swaps all the white-finished parts with black-painted replacements. Including on the wheels, but not the exhaust tailpipes, obviously!)

In addition,  the rear “Porsche” script is finished in a high-gloss silver. If you opt for the Boxster, you also get a “Boxster” designation embossed into the soft top. Paint options include a fabulous pink paint on the Boxster called “Ruby Star Neo,” a newly available paint color for the 718 this year. Inside, all Style Editions come with a black leather interior with Chalk (white) contrast stitching.

Porsche put together a package of standard options for the equipment and technology roster in the Style Editions. These include the following: Sport Exhaust, dynamic Bi-Xenon headlights, auto-dimming side mirrors and rear-view mirror, heated steering wheel, Porsche crest embossed in headrests, illuminated stainless steel door sill guards, front/rear parking sensors, and two-zone auto climate control.

Opting for the convertible 718 Boxster will add a Boxster script on the soft top above the side windows. The Ruby Star Neo pink Porsche used on the Boxster in Porsche’s official photos looks fantastic. Porsche says this particular paint color is a modern take on the Ruby Star color last seen on the 1964 Carrera RS model.

On the inside, the new Style Edition variants of the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman have black leather with white chalk stitching, backlit door sills, Porsche crest on the headrests, heated seats and steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, Apple CarPlay, auto-dimming rear-view mirrors. The side mirrors have an auto-dimming function as well. As standard, there are also front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, Power Steering Plus, cruise control, bi-xenon headlights with LED DRLs, and rain-sensing wipers. A range of optional extras can also be specified for the two models.

Powering both the  718 Boxster Style Edition and Cayman Style Edition is the base engine, namely the 2.0-liter turbocharged unit with four cylinders, mated to either the six-speed manual transmission or an optional dual-clutch seven-speed automatic gearbox. The engine produces 300 horsepower (220 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque, enabling a 0 to 100 kph time of 5.1 seconds in the manual gearbox-equipped versions and 4.7 seconds when with the PDK auto box. The top speed stands at 275 kph (171 mph) regardless of the transmission option.

Porsche is already accepting orders for the Style Edition models in Europe. Pricing starts at $91,300  (Canadian)  for the 718 Boxster Style Edition and $91,319 (Canadian) for the 718 Cayman Style Edition.

Figure prices to be higher once they are officially announced in North America. The Style Editions will be available to order in early 2023. They will arrive at U.S. and Canadian dealerships late in the 2024 model year.
