With the A 35 4MATIC, Mercedes-AMG presents a completely new entry-level model to the world of driving performance. The 2Mercedes-AMG A35 is the first of AMG’s new entry-level models, and it eventually will be followed by the more powerful A45. Differentiating itself from the regular A-class, the AMG models come with different seats, unique interior trim finishes such as red seatbelts, and a Supersport display mode for the standard dual MBUX infotainment screens. Optional features include a steering wheel with touchscreen buttons for driving-mode selection and a Track Pace telemetry app that uses the A-class’s augmented-reality navigation system to project the ideal driving line when on a racetrack. The next-generation A-Class will debut in 2019. The A 35 is powered by a new 2.0 litre four-cylinder turbo engine that delivers 302 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. From the body to the suspension, all-wheel drive, transmission, and driving programs – every detail has been designed to enhance driving dynamics without compromising comfort. The A 35 hatch accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds (4.8 seconds for the sedan). With this sports car level performance and dynamic design, the A 35 is a true member of the AMG performance family

The A 35 comes equipped with an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G dual-clutch transmission that ensures responsive shifting with extremely short shift times.  Drivers can choose between five AMG DYNAMIC SELECT driving programs that enable a wide range of vehicle characteristics. Characteristic AMG elements add to the powerful exterior design of the A 35 4MATIC. A radiator grille with twin louvres, an AMG front apron with flics on the air intakes, a front splitter and silver chrome elements are distinguishing AMG design features at the front. From the side view, the aerodynamically optimized 18-inch light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design and the AMG side sill panels catch the eye.  The two-part tail lamps and a new diffuser insert emphasize the width at the vehicle’s rear. The rear also features the spoiler lip and two round tailpipe trims positioned on the extreme left and right. Inside the vehicle, the seats are covered with ARTICO man-made leather with DINAMICA microfiber in black with red contrasting topstitching or ARTICO man-made leather in black/neva grey.

The A 35 sedan and hatch will arrive in Canada in early 2020.  Pricing to be announced.
