20 South Asian American Pageant Queens Share A United Message in Solidarity With Farmers in India

“In a country with over 70% of the population in the agricultural and its allied sectors, the past few weeks have been increasingly difficult with farmer suicide rates on the rise and violence in the face of peaceful protests. Pageant women have a unique ability to bring attention to issues and also, gain widespread support – financially and otherwise – within their communities. We know we have this unique platform and we are passionate about using it for what we believe in strongly,” says Serene Singh, the project’s founder.

BC Federation of Labour to attend Rally for Indian Farmers

The BC Federation of Labour, alongside several unions, has declared full support for the farmers in India who are currently protesting against legislation that will deregulate agricultural markets and favour corporate interests over those of small food producers through measures such as removing minimum support pricing.

B.C. Honours Excellence in Nursing

MICHAEL CHING DONATES $250,000 TO RICHMOND HOSPITAL FOUNDATION

Mr. Michael Ching, a real estate developer in Vancouver and Richmond, has generously donated $200,000 to the new acute care tower in Richmond. Extending his generosity even further, Mr. Ching has partnered with South China Morning Post, donating $50,000 towards Richmond Hospital Foundation’s Surgical Restart campaign.
