Dr. Nemy Banthia receives 2018 Global Citizenship Award from alumni UBC

The award recognizes Dr. Banthia’s dedication to improving the lives of people in marginalized communities through his work to develop advanced infrastructure innovations in answer to challenges facing remote and rural regions of Canada and India.

Dr. Nemy Banthia was the recipient of the 2018 Global Citizenship Award by the University of British Columbia’s alumni association (alumni UBC). The award was presented at the alumni UBC Achievement Awards ceremony in Vancouver, British Columbia, on November 15. The award recognizes Dr. Banthia’s dedication to improving the lives of people in marginalized communities through his work to develop advanced infrastructure innovations in answer to challenges facing remote and rural regions of Canada and India. Dr. Banthia is a Professor, Distinguished University Scholar and Senior Canada Research Chair in Infrastructure Rehabilitation at UBC. He is also the CEO and Scientific Director of the India-Canada Centre for Innovative Multidisciplinary Partnerships to Accelerate Community Transformation and Sustainability (IC-IMPACTS).
