Mississauga, ON – Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada (MMSCAN) recorded its seventh consecutive best month sales record with August sales jumping 18 per cent with 2,415 vehicles sold. Outlander PHEV once again reached a new high-water mark with 837 deliveries establishing a new industry record for number of plug-in hybrid vehicles sold in a given month. Outlander PHEV is the top-selling plug-in hybrid SUV and top-selling plug-in hybrid of any kind in Canada. There have been 3,848 Outlander PHEV deliveries since January.
“Outlander PHEV is a game-changer that meets the needs of Canadians who want to drive more sustainably but do not want to compromise on SUV capability,” said Kathryn Soubliere, senior manager, Sales Operations. “We have simplified the buying process for the customer from its affordability, widespread availability and its best-in-class warranty for its powertrain and battery. We are thrilled Canadians are responding.” Mitsubishi RVR reached 479 sales, followed by Outlander with 451 deliveries and Eclipse Cross which notched 412 sales. Mitsubishi Mirage subcompact hatchback and G4 sedan sales were 236 units rounding out total sales for the company. January-to-August sales of 18,028 are up 17 per cent versus 15,418 deliveries this time last year.
Top-selling dealerships were Québec Mitsubishi, Rallye Mitsubishi (Gatineau), Metrotown Mitsubishi (Vancouver), Saint-Jerome Mitsubishi (Mirabel) and Surrey Mitsubishi.
