The Lexus RX 400h is the first luxury crossover powered by a hybrid drive system. The latest version keeps its own technology features, quality, and the guilt-free motoring powered by hybrid engine’s fuel economy.

The RX 450h is available in front-wheel or all-wheel drive. It has a new 3.5-liter V6 engine running on the Atkinson. The new Ultra Premium Package1 ($7,150) offers the simply superb 15-speaker, Mark Levinson surround sound audio system complete with a subwoofer and a 7.1 channel surround sound speaker architecture. Also available are video monitors for blind areas at the side, a backup camera, and automatic high-low beam switching. Passive safety is handled with 10 standard airbags and a rollover sensor.

The RX450h proves to be a refined and comfortable on the road. It provides smooth silent take off from stops and at low speeds. The added torque of the electric motors and the surprisingly responsive CTV gearbox make the RX 450h amazingly comfortable and easy to drive. A well modulated low and mid-range torque provided by the electric battery and motor of its hybrid power train generally also makes for an entertaining driving experience. The Electronically Controlled Continuous Variable Transmission (ECVT) has an estimated fuel economy figure of 6.6L/100km in the city and 7.2L/100km on the highway.
